Clause Four's music has one foot in the world of electronic hip hop (think Dabrye, Timbaland, Modeselektor) and another in some uncharted retro funk future where a cybernetic George Clinton is body popping to a machine-made groove. This EP is the critically acclaimed debut which features guest vocals from Nancy Elizabeth, (forthcoming album on Leaf Recordings), and delectable cover art from La Boca. Both the cover art and the music reveal the prominence of Clause Four's 8-bit digital fetishism, although traces of other influences: dubstep, p-funk and old fashioned rhythm and blues are subtly jostling for a place in the mix. A series of excellent radio mixes that coincided with the release illustrated the depth of these influences, some of them are still avaialable to listen to on the Clause Four artist page.
